The Western chapter of CAPAL would like to extend a warm welcome to all new and returning MLIS students this term. We expect to sustain the momentum from last term into Winter 2015, with lots of interesting and fun events for students to be involved with in the coming months. Check back to this site over the next few weeks for a revamp of our blog, as well as information on upcoming events. Anticipated activities for this term include another Lunch with a Librarian event, a Q&A with students who have returned from co-ops in academic libraries, a session on accessibility in academic libraries, and gearing up for the CAPAL conference in Ottawa this Spring! We’re also in the midst of updating the Collective Agreement Collection on this site, which houses all collective agreements from colleges and universities across Canada.
Come check us out at our biweekly meetings and see how you can get involved in CAPAL! Our first meeting of the term will be on January 20 @ noon in NCB 280E and we plan to meet biweekly throughout the term. New members are always welcome!
Best of luck this term – it promises to be as busy as ever, but we promise that your involvement with CAPAL will be both a rewarding a positive experience!
